Summer Concert Series Kicks Off April 30 at ‘The Fred’

The Frederick Brown Jr. “The Fred” Amphitheater in Peachtree City kicks off their 2011 BMW of South Atlanta Summer Concert Series this Saturday, April 30 as the Grammy Award winning saxophonist Kenny G brings his Heart and Soul Tour to the Fred stage.

In a recording career that spans almost three decades and 23 albums, Kenny G has grafted elements of R&B, pop and Latin to a jazz foundation solidifying his reputation as the premiere artist in contemporary jazz. Since the early ‘80s, his combination of unparalleled instrumental chops and indelible melodies has resulted in sales of more than 75 million records worldwide (45 million in the U.S. alone) and more than a dozen climbs to the top of Billboard’s contemporary jazz chart. Kenny G is known for hits such as “By the Time This Night is Over”, “Forever in Love”, and “Songbird”.

Each year the Summer Concert Series at ‘The Fred’ showcases a wide range of musical genres and this year will be no different according to Amphitheater Manager, Nancy Price. “Each year we strive to put together a diverse musical lineup and this year is no different as we feature country, rock, and jazz. We are especially excited to be kicking off our concert series with the legendary jazz artist, Kenny G,” said Ms Price.
