Offshoot Productions Closing Its Doors

Sam Ash Quikship Corp.

1/3/09 Offshoot Productions, Inc., the Southside’s longest-running professional theatre, closed its doors, figuratively speaking, as 2009 came to an end.

Based in Fayette County, the sixteen-year-old company, which never inhabited its own space but traveled throughout the metro-Atlanta area, has engaged hundreds of professional and apprentice performers and other theatre practitioners in creating top-notch productions, offering performing arts education, and presenting the popular Stars on the Southern Crescent coffee house.

Producing artistic director Susan M. Steadman, Ph.D., expressed thanks to everyone who has worked with the company over the years. “Dedication, determination and talent all played a large role in our success. Endings are always sad, but I’m proud of all we accomplished.” She will continue teaching and writing for the theatre, and can be contacted at (770) 631-2362.
